Thai striking star Petchtanong Petchfergus captured the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title in November 2022 at ONE 163 when he dethroned Hiroki Akimoto with a close split decision win inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
This entertaining clash between Petchtanong and Akimoto was published by ONE Championship on their YouTube channel, and they wrote its video description with:

The championship showdown was a back-and-forth battle through five rounds, with both warriors having success with their offense and landing several combinations against each other.
However, Petchtanong inflicted more damage during the fight, and the redness on the Japanese star's body was enough for the judges to award him the close split decision nod and crown him as the new king of the weight class.
Petchtanong is confident that his experience will power him against Nabil Anane at ONE Fight Night 26
On Dec. 6, the Superbon Training Camp representative will take on the challenge of 20-year-old phenom Nabil Anane in a bantamweight kickboxing contest as part of the ONE Fight Night 26 card, which goes down inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ahead of their battle, Petchtanong talked to ONE Championship for an interview, and he stated that he can solve the puzzle of Anane's unique physique by getting his hands raised, as he claimed:
"Have I ever encountered an opponent of such height in my entire career? I never have one. But it is not a difficult task for me anyway. Actually he is skilled and difficult to fight. But I believe that I will use all my experience to handle everything he throws at me."
