Jake Paul was able to improve to 10-1 in his professional boxing career, defeating Mike Perry via sixth-round TKO this past weekend. The social media personality used his post-fight interview as an opportunity to call out UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, who has expressed an interest in boxing.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani in the ring immediately after the bout, Paul stated:
"Alex Pereira, you said you want to box. I'm the king of this. I'm the king of this. Come over, we can make it happen. I want you, Alex Pereira... I just beat a BKFC champion. I've beat multiple UFC champions and he said he wants to box so, Alex Pereira, after Mike Tyson, let's make it happen."
While the two FaceTimed immediately after the bout, Paul expressed doubt that they would clash while calling out critics who believed he would be easily defeated. He took to X on Monday, stating:

Paul has been successful in facing former mixed martial artists in boxing, compiling a 6-0 record. He has often faced criticism, however, for facing smaller fighters who are past their prime. While it is unlikely that Dana White agrees to do business with his 'Most Valuable Promotions', Pereira would represent a tougher challenge than any of his previous opponents.
Jake Paul shares reason for wanting to face Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira has shown tremendous knockout power during his rise to become a double champion at GLORY Kickboxing and a two-division champion in the UFC. Jake Paul shared his reason for calling out the light heavyweight champion. Speaking on his podcast, BS with Jake Paul, he stated:
"I want a tougher challenge than [Conor] McGregor. F**k McGregor. I want Alex Pereira. I want the light heavyweight champion because people say everything about weight difference. 40 this, 40 whatever. I was 212 [pounds] in the ring tonight so a ten pound difference. That's common in boxing. But Alex Pereira rehydrates to 240. So, I want someone who when I f**k them up like I did tonight, there is no excuses."
