Gabriel Silva recently released a post-fight statement after losing against Anthony Taylor at Misfits & DAZN X Series 17. Silva acknowledged Taylor in his latest social media post and took a dig at the referee, who was in charge of the fight.
Silva, the son of UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva, challenged Taylor in the co-main event of Misfits Boxing 17, held this past Saturday at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, for the Misfits Boxing light heavyweight title.
The considerably taller Brazilian was immediately pressured by Taylor, who then used hooks to catch him as he closed the gap between them. The American persistently targeted Silva's body and seemed to have the upper hand in the first round.
At the beginning of the second round, Taylor continued applying pressure on Silva, which worked well because it prevented the latter from using his reach advantage. Nonetheless, the 27-year-old showed improvement by connecting powerful left hooks.

In the third round, Taylor came out swinging and dropped Silva with an overhand right. The latter survived referee Joerg Milke's count, however, the former Bellator fighter's continuous strikes caused Milke to call the fight off.
Following the fight, Silva, who was visibly upset with Milke's stoppage, took to X and issued a post-fight statement, writing:
''Fair play to AT played the game accordingly, but that referee should find a different career path. But that’s was a good scrap, I’ll see you guys real soon!''
Notably, Taylor called out former UFC fighter Darren Till and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather during his post-fight interview, saying:
"Darren Till, I know you watching. Hey, if you see this message, bring it. Floyd Mayweather, I'll knock your little skinny a** out too. Bring it. You best believe, I ain't going nowhere." [H/t: Bloody Elbow]
