Longevity expert Gary Brecka recently shared how he helped Jon Jones address some persistent health issues. Brecka gained recognition in the MMA community after guiding UFC CEO Dana White in transforming his health and improving longevity a few years ago.
During a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast, Brecka claimed that hydrogen water baths can ease joint and muscle pain. To support his assertion, Brecka discussed his experience of using this therapy with Jones. He said:
"When I dropped into Jon Jones' fight camp, his big thing was he was just waking up so stiff and sore and achy every single day. He was just like, [in] constant pain. And, a lot of those fighters get to that because of their career. So I had him to start drinking hydrogen water, I had him start bathing in hydrogen water."
Brecka claimed that Jones started having 25-minute hydrogen water baths every night, stating that his aches and pains went away. According to him, Jones provided him with this feedback:

In recent years, hydrogen water has been touted its potential health benefits. Hydrogen water is plain water with added hydrogen molecules. According to Brecka, hydrogen can penetrate the skin and reduce inflammation.
Despite growing interest in hydrogen water among athletes, research on its potential benefits is limited. This has led many medical professionals to be skeptical about its efficacy.
When an exercise scientist questioned the role of Gary Brecka's methods in Dana White's transformation
During an interview with Piers Morgan, Dana White revealed that after conducting various tests, Garry Brecka informed him that he had a life expectancy of about 10.4 years due to his health conditions.
White adopted a strict prescription keto diet and a resistance training routine. He also began Testosterone replacement therapy to enhance his health and longevity.
In another video, he explained that Brecka's plan included a PEMF pad, cold plunges, red light therapy, and oxygen therapy.
However, in a YouTube video reacting to White's transformation story, sports expert Dr. Mike Israetel criticized Brecka and questioned the efficacy of his therapies, stating:
"Red light therapy has had some promising research, though on that balance I'm not sure how it's doing... I'd say that giving more oxygen than you need and doing cold plunges, has, on the aggregate, almost no effect positively on your health, unless you have a very specific context for it."
Israetel questioned the exact benefits derived from PEMF [Pulsed Electromagnetic Field] pad therapy and attributed White's transformation to diet, training, and TRT. He said:
"The vast majority of the credit for his transformation goes to physical activity enhancement, resistance training and eating a better diet. What amount goes to these other modalities, is in my scientific eyes, questionable at worst, at best, teeny-tiny assistance." [12:59]
