Georges St-Pierre recently disclosed the greatest moment of his career when the Dana White-led UFC was still making major strides. The Hall of Famer achieved a great deal of success throughout his career, but one moment stood out because of its significance to the perception of the sport.
'Rush' is considered by many as one of the greatest fighters of all-time and was instrumental in growing MMA's popularity in Canada. Despite playing a key role in the growth, the sport and the UFC in particular, still had a negative public perception.
During his latest appearance on GEEKING OUT WITH MATT SERRA, the former two-division UFC champion disclosed that avenging his loss to the former 'TUF' winner and regaining the welterweight championship was one of his greatest moments.
St-Pierre mentioned it was a special night and recalled the headlines in local newspapers after outperforming the NHL's Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre:

"For me, it was one of the best moments of my career because it was in Montreal... And I remember the next day I was in the front page of the newspaper...and it was written because in Canada, hockey is our national sport...'The barbarians overthrow the Montreal Canadiens for record crowd'...These same reporters that treat me like [a] barbarian are now the ones calling me for interviews. That is funny, but they were uneducated at the time." [22:58]

Georges St-Pierre says UFC 83 crowd was loudest he ever heard
In addition to disclosing that avenging his loss to Matt Serra to regain the welterweight championship at UFC 83 was one of his greatest moments, Georges St-Pierre said that the crowd at Bell Centre was the loudest he ever heard.
During the aforementioned appearance, St-Pierre mentioned that he couldn't hear the fighter introductions because of how raucous his hometown was and even noted that it was louder than when he headlined UFC 129 at Rogers Centre in Toronto:
"I couldn't hear Bruce Buffer announcing your name...I fought in Toronto [with] more than 50,000 people. Montreal's crowd that night was the loudest I ever seen in my entire life. Like, it was insane. We shared that moment together, man, that was insane." [18:15]
