Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin just wrapped up. The event took place at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 15 and featured 11 fights, including four title fights.
Let's recap the fights and take a closer look at the full event results.
In the main event, Davis attempted the fourth defense of his WBA lightweight title against Frank Martin. This was 'Tank's' first competitive appearance since his seventh-round KO win over Ryan Garcia. Meanwhile, this was the first title opportunity of Martin's career.
In the fight, 'Tank' marched forward to take the center of the ring right from the opening bell, but it was Martin who had the most success in the first round. While Davis was the aggressor, Martin stayed active with his hands and constantly disrupted his opponent's rhythm.

Davis landed with more power but Martin landed more frequently and appeared to be stringing together better combinations with effective footwork to steal the rounds.
Davis took his time and increased the activity level after the midway point. Reeling under the pressure from the champion, Martin found himself up against the ropes in Round 8. A right uppercut and left hook combination from 'Tank' dropped Martin, who could not answer the 10 count. Davis was declared the winner by KO and remained the WBA lightweight champion, improving his record to a perfect 30-0.
In the co-headlining bout, David Benavidez fought Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the interim WBC light heavyweight title. Since defeating David Lemieux to win the interim WBC super middleweight title in May 2022, Benavidez defended it against Caleb Plant and Demetrius Andrade before moving up to light heavyweight for the showdown this weekend.
His opponent, Gvozdyk, was on a three-win streak since coming out of retirement in 2023 after losing the WBC light heavyweight title to Artur Beterbiev in October 2019.
In the fight, Gvozdyk was the more active fighter and tried to keep Benavidez at bay with jabs. However, Benavidez was undeterred and kept stalking the veteran fighter and stung him with quick combinations.
Gvozdyk held his own against the onslaught. After Rounds 7 and 8, Benavidez appeared to be slowing down and the Ukrainian fighter increased his activity level. However, the impact of Gvozdyk's punches seemed to be doing little to deter Benavidez, who answered with a few barrages in the later rounds.
Although Gvozdyk made the fight more competitive in the second half, he could not catch up with Benavidez's lead. The contest resulted in a unanimous decision victory for Benavidez, who is now the interim WBC light heavyweight champion.
Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin: Alberto Puello and Carlos Adames win
Former boxing world champion Garry Russell Jr.'s younger brother Gary Antuanne Russell took his first step toward building his own legacy on the undercard. The younger Russell sibling fought former WBA super lightweight champion Alberto Puello for the WBC interim super lightweight championship.
The fight marked Puello's return to competition after he received a six-month suspension for testing positive for a banned substance in April 2023. Like the main event, this fight also had an interesting dynamic as both men were undefeated heading into the contest.
Russell, who had a perceived advantage in terms of punching power, started aggressively and took control of the fight. He seemed to be having more success as Puello seemed to be backing up a lot. However, the momentum started shifting after the midway point of the fight.
While Russell was still the aggressor, Puello was the one who landed more meaningful strikes. Most of Russell's punches missed the mark or were blocked as the fight progressed. After 12 rounds of action, Puello won the bout by split decision to become the interim WBC super lightweight champion.
In the fourth title fight on the card, Carlos Adames fought former title challenger Terrell Gausha as he attempted the first defense of his WBC middleweight title. Adames won the interim WBC middleweight title in October 2022 and defended it against Julian Williams in June 2023. He was elevated to the full champion's status after Jarmall Charlo was stripped of the title.
In the fight, both men started on a cautious note and maintained a minimum activity level through the first few rounds. However, Adames appeared to be the aggressor throwing the more powerful shots as Gausha primarily relied on the jab.
Both men showed more aggression in the later rounds but Adames edged past Gausha to secure a unanimous decision victory. With the win, Adames officially defended the WBC middleweight title for the first time.
On the preliminary card, Daniel Blancas and Justin Viloria secured KO wins over Aro Schwartz and Angelo Antonio Contreras, respectively.
