Shakur Stevenson has penned a contract with Matchroom Boxing promotions, led by elite promoter Eddie Hearn, who has promised to deliver massive fights for the WBC lightweight champion. He went so far as to claim that by 2025, a clash between Stevenson and Gervonta Davis will be the sport's biggest spectacle.
Both pugilists currently hold world titles at lightweight, with 'Tank' the reigning WBA champion. With both fighters undefeated, and still under the age of 30, they are regarded as two of boxing's best talents.
Hearn has spoken highly of both boxers and recently secured both Stevenson's signature and his next fight, a thrilling clash against Joe Cordina scheduled for October.
The British promoter was interviewed by Matchroom Boxing following the signing of the WBC champion, where Hearn outlined the path to a clash with Davis in 2025:

"For me, what we do is go Joe Cordina, William Zepeda, Gervonta Davis. For me, once we've done our work over that six-month period, Gervonta Davis against Shakur Stevenson will be the biggest fight in boxing. But, we make our own moves. We're not chasing 'Tank', we're chasing greatness. But that comes with 'Tank' because he's an unbelievable fighter."

Eddie Hearn buzzing with excitement after signing Shakur Stevenson
Eddie Hearn's promotion, Matchroom Boxing, is one of the leading promotions in boxing right now. Hearn has worked with the biggest stars in the sport over the past decade, including Canelo Alvarez, Anthony Joshua, Devin Haney, and now Shakur Stevenson.
The 22-0 fighter was previously signed to Top Rank, headed by Bob Arum, but opted against re-signed with them despite being offered a whopping $18 million contract, according to reports.
The WBC champion's signature was a sought-after commodity, which Hearn secured, much to his excitement. Having showered the 27-year-old with compliments even prior to signing him, Hearn took to Instagram to announce the acquisition of one of boxing's top talents.
He wrote this:
"You've heard me say for years just how special this young man is and that was even before signing him! Been around boxing for nearly 40 years and I believe Shakur Stevenson is a generational great. 27 years old, 3-division world champion and he's hardly out of first gear. Welcome to the team Champ."
