Robelis Despaigne has lit social media on fire with his vicious 4-second knock-out over his opponent at Karate Combat 51 (KC51). Now fans are clamoring for the fighter's return to the UFC.
'The Bad Boy' had a rather forgettable stint in the UFC, going 1-2 before getting cut from the roster. While the Cuban national clinched a credible first-round KO win over Josh Parisian in his debut at UFC 299, the heavyweight failed to keep up his momentum, suffering back-to-back unanimous decision losses in his next two outings.
Earlier today at KC51, Despaigne made a triumphant return to combat sports as he shut Dominik Jedrzejczyk's lights out with a nuclear right hand just four seconds into the fight.
Suffice it to say 'The Bad Boy's' statement win has won over fight fans, with many taking to social media and urging Dana White and the UFC brass to bring the fighter back to the big leagues.

Not all fans spoke out in support of Despaigne. One user expressed their skepticism, saying:
"He's got all the power in the world, but he needs to improve his grappling. He'll be back in the UFC one day if he does so."

When Chael Sonnen reacted to Robelis Despaigne's UFC debut
Following Robelis Despaigne's 18-second KO in his UFC debut, many thought that the Olympic medalist would evolve into one of the biggest threats in the heavyweight division. Chael Sonnen, however, was skeptical about 'The Bad Boy's' prospects in the UFC.
During a segment of the Good Guy/Bad Guy podcast with Daniel Cormier, Sonnen lauded Despaigne as one of the finest taekwondo fighters to transition to MMA, before pointing out that there were some fundamental changes he needed to make to have a successful career in MMA.
After giving Despaigne his plaudits, Sonnen said:
"I think if I was to bet, he could make some corrections, I think he's gotta tighten a few things up. He sure does look impressive though."
