Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Osamah Almarwai is the next opponent for reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci. They'll compete in marquee showdown set for May in the United States.
The two world-class BJJ fighters will lock horns at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. The card is set for May 5 at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. It will be part of the promotion’s first-ever live on-ground event in North America.
Musumeci was expected to collide with Osamah Almarwai at some point in ONE, but it gained momentum with 'Darth Rigatoni' calling out the Yemeni fighter following his successful title defense in January.

Osamah Almarwai looks to extend success under ONE Championship
Already boasting an impressive track record in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Yemeni fighter Osamah Almarwai looks to extend the success he has had as he begins his ONE Championship journey later this year.
The BJJ specialist will see action at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5 in Colorado. He will vie for the promotion’s flyweight submission grappling world title against reigning champion Mikey 'Darth Rigatoni' Musumeci.
Osamah Almarwai is a highly accomplished BJJ fighter who further honed his skills training under grappling legend and fellow ONE athlete Andre Galvao at Atos BJJ in San Diego, California
He believes that training with Atos has prepared him well for his next journey, telling ONE Championship in an interview:
“My first camp at Atos was the ADCC camp in 2019. It was a very tough camp. So I was like, ‘Why can’t I win a World Championship if I’m training with the best? It doesn’t get harder than this.’ I was telling myself it doesn’t get harder than Atos.”
Osamah Almarwai also views his next fight with much significance as a fighter representing the Middle East. He said:
“It’s a lot of pressure on my shoulders because I’m kind of the only high-level black belt who is representing the Middle East at the highest level. But I’m also super proud of it. It motivates me every day…”
At ONE Fight Night 10, pundits and observers are expecting Almarwai to give Musumeci a tough challenge as the first BJJ black belt world champion he will roll against in ONE Championship.
