Danielle Kelly isn't concerned with rankings and records. After surrendering the ONE atomweight submission grappling world championship to Mayssa Bastos in a stunning upset in August, Kelly will look to reclaim her crown when the two run it back on Friday, Dec. 6 at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video.
The loss was Kelly's first defeat under the ONE Championship banner, but she's not overly concerned with how her record looks. She doesn't even care about being the top-ranked grappler in the division.
All she's focused on is leaving the legendary Lumpinee Stadium with 26 pounds of ONE gold and evening the series with Bastos.

“Well, one is getting my belt back. But, two, it’s definitely beating Mayssa, because, again, I don’t care about the numbers and rankings," Kelly told the promotion during a recent interview.
If Danielle Kelly is successful in her bid to reclaim the atomweight submission grappling crown, she will once again etch her name in the history books as ONE's first-ever two-time grappling world champion.
Danielle Kelly won't repeat the same mistake against Mayssa Bastos
While Kelly didn't necessarily agree with the unanimous decision in favor of Bastos at ONE Fight Night 24, the Silver Fox BJJ star admits that she made the mistake of putting the nine-time IBJJF world champion on a pedestal ahead of their inaugural meeting.
In the aforementioned interview, she said:
"Like, I’m not discrediting her or talking trash. I kinda put myself in a negative position where I was like, ‘Oh, man. She’s this and that.’"
Kelly won't make that mistake again, as she plans to go right after Bastos this time.
"This time around, I don't feel any pressure. I'm just gonna go after her this time."
Will Kelly again strap the ONE atomweight submission grappling world title around her waist, or will Bastos prove to herself and the rest of the world that her victory over Kelly was no fluke?
Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 26 live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, Dec. 6 in U.S. primetime.
