Gilbert Burns is so confident in his pick for the UFC 311 main event winner between Islam Makhachev and Renato Moicano that he has even offered a $50,000 wager to Makhachev's manager, Ali Abdelaziz.
UFC 311's stacked card was briefly thrown into chaos yesterday after it was revealed that Arman Tsarukyan had suffered a back injury during his weight cut. He was set to challenge Makhachev for the lightweight title, but after being checked by the promotion's doctors, was ruled out of the fight entirely.
The main event then looked to be in doubt, as the UFC had opted not to name a backup fighter for the bout, but Dana White soon dropped the bombshell that Renato Moicano, who was initially preparing to face Beneil Dariush, would be stepping into the main event slot to face off against Makhachev for the belt.
Following the news that Moicano is now fighting for the title, Burns took to X to express his confidence in his friend and compatriot potentially pulling off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history. Burns, who hosts the Show Me the Money podcast with 'Money', tagged Makhachev's manager and offered him a $50,000 wager. 'Durinho' tweeted:

Abdelaziz soon fired back, however, claiming Burns still hadn't paid him for a similar wager he made regarding Charles Oliveira. He responded:
"You still haven't paid me for the Oliveira bet you lost"

Islam Makhachev issues final verdict on Renato Moicano ahead of their UFC 311 clash
Islam Makhachev believes Renato Moicano should be grateful to be facing him after the Russian champion issued his final statement ahead of their bout this weekend.
Speaking to Megan Olivi one final time before heading off to do his last-minute fight preparations, Makhachev gave his verdict on his new opponent, stating that while he is dangerous, he is also predictable. The champion said:
"Moicano, he's a dangerous guy. He did well in his couple of his last fights. He is still dangerous. I respect him because he take this fight. And he have to be grateful because I give him the opportunity to fight for the title...But I saw his couple of fight, of course, but we have to sit with the team and watch his fight again. Because he is very predictable.
