"Give him the title shot" - Lightweight kickboxing king Alexis Nicolas sees Elias Mahmoudi challenging for gold

Algerian Muay Thai star Elias Mahmoudi received a vote of confidence that may prove invaluable in making his dream of challenging for a ONE world championship a reality.

'The Sniper' was dominant in the early going of his flyweight kickboxing bout against Japanese star Taiki Naito at ONE Fight Night 24 last Friday, Aug. 2, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

ONE Championship shared a beautiful sequence from Mahmoudi on Instagram. Alexis Nicolas, who won the ONE lightweight kickboxing crown this past April, believes Mahmoudi is ready for a world title shot.

The spinning back fist proved to be Mahmoudi's most lethal weapon. In the final frame, he knocked out Naito to claim his second-straight finish and fourth win under the ONE banner.

Elias Mahmoudi wants next shot at ONE flyweight kickboxing world title

Elias Mahmoudi, the fifth-ranked ONE flyweight kickboxing and Muay Thai fighter, staked his claim to challenge Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship in the post-fight interview at ONE Fight Night 24.

Mahmoudi said:

"For my last message, Chatri, big boss, please, give me a shot at the title soon. I want to fight for the title for the big champion."

Despite his enthusiasm, the 26-year-old will need to wait until after ONE 168: Denver on September 6 as Superlek challenges two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship inside the Ball Arena.
