Ian Machado Garry is set to take on the undefeated phenom Shavkat Rakhmonov in the co-main event of UFC 310. This bout is likely to be a title eliminator.

Ahead of the clash, Garry made some bold claims while speaking with Ariel Helwani on his show. ‘The Future’ claimed that he is not afraid of anyone and will defeat Rakhmonov.

After that, he plans to win the title, move up to middleweight, and defeat Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev to become a double champion. @ChampRDS shared the video on X, which sparked reactions from MMA enthusiasts who rushed to the comments section to share their opinions.

One fan compared Garry's claims to Darren Till, saying:

“Garry is going to become another Till. Till said the same thing about being a double champ before he even won a championship. I do however think Garry is a better fighter than Till because he’s committed to the game but there’s no way he becomes a champ let alone a double champ.”

Another user disagreed with the welterweight fighter and wrote:

"Love the confidence, but there's nearly a 0% chance any of that occurs."

One user commented:

“Most delusional take in MMA history.”

Another fan added:

“I like Garry and admire the optimism but lets see this Shavkat fight first before we get ahead of ourselves.”

Ian Machado Garry promises to deliver Shavkat Rakhmonov his first defeat at UFC 310

Ian Garry and Shavkat Rakhmonov are both undefeated in their careers, with impressive records of 15-0 and 18-0, respectively.

'Nomad' has finished all of his opponents, with his most recent victory coming at UFC 296 against Stephen Thompson via rear-naked choke. Meanwhile, Garry is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Michael Page at UFC 303.

Rakhmonov was supposed to fight for the welterweight title against Belal Muhammad, but the champion pulled out of the bout due to a foot injury. Garry stepped in as his replacement despite having a good relationship with Rakhmonov, as the two have trained together.

The Irish fighter, on his YouTube channel, revealed that he had been pushing for this clash and vowed to hand Rakhmonov his first loss, stating:

"Honestly, I was pushing for the Shavkat fight. I was pushing for it. Undefeated versus undefeated. We've trained together. We know how good we are. We both respect each other. He probably respects me a lot less than I respect him, which is okay, which is okay. That's the way it should be at that point in our careers. But the truth is, I will take his 0 and I will take that belt."
