The Japanese grappling marvel’s four victories in ONE Championship have all come via her trademark scarf hold armlock dubbed the 'Ayaka Lock'.
Danielle Kelly posted the entire fight card of the event and expressed her thoughts on her upcoming bout:
"Thankful, grateful, for every opportunity. I’ll be on the main card this time💪🏼 don’t miss me sub my opponent fast. Going to show why I belong here and prove that I’ve improved from every match. Watch on @primevideo @onechampionship"
It would be an interesting stylistic match-up to see Kelly lock horns with Miura in a straight submission grappling contest. The dashing and dangerous Kelly makes use of her slick submission entries off her back and her underrated wrestling.
As for Miura, the marvelous Judoka has powerful throws and heavy pinning techniques from the top position.
Danielle Kelly submits Mariia Molchanova in just over two minutes at ONE on Prime Video 4
In her last appearance inside the Circle, Danielle Kelly scored her first submission win in ONE Championship as she handily tapped Sambo fighter Mariia Molchanova via a rear-naked choke.
Danielle Kelly would have made UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling proud as she climbed Monchanova's back. Once she had firmly secured the human backpack position, Kelly locks in a tight body lock on the Russian fighter.
The end was nigh as it was just a matter of time before Kelly secured a rear-naked choke for the tap.
The win got Kelly a nice $50,000 performance bonus from ONE - her second in the promotion. The win was also a great re-entry for Kelly inside the Circle, as her last bout went to a draw against MMA pioneer Mei Yamaguchi.
Look to see Kelly attempt for submissions in her next few bouts, as she's expressed her intention to eventually win a world title in the promotion.
