Prominent Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner Gordon Ryan was humored by a recent comment by former UFC fighter Jake Shields in response to a callout. It all started when a transgender boxer named Summer Brady made an appearance on the OverDogs podcast, hosted by another ex-UFC fighter Mike Perry.
At one point during their conversation, Brady proceeded to call out Shields for a clash at Perry's promotion 'Diry Boxing Championship', saying:
"Jake Shields, I would love to fight you in Dirty Boxing. I know you got some grappling. I know you talk a lot about people like me. But maybe I could teach you a lesson if I knock you out in dirty boxing. And maybe you would learn that you don't have to just call me a man or a male because yeah, I'm a man. I was born as one... But I'm also a f**king non-binary trans-human."

Shields later appeared on the same podcast, where he responded to the callout by saying that he would make light work of 'The Non-Binary Ninja'.
"I will beat that thing's a**. You serious? I don't know if it's a man, woman, whatever it is. I will beat the s**t out of that thing. People are delusional. They don't understand the difference between high-level pros versus like these amateurs or whatever they are fighting."
