Henry Cejudo recently weighed in on Sean O'Malley's performance against Merab Dvalishvili and believes he was outclassed. The Georgian used his wrestling to his advantage and earned a unanimous decision to become the new UFC bantamweight champion.
O'Malley vs. Dvalishvili served as the headliner of Noche UFC 306 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, which turned out to be quite a spectacle. The bantamweight clash saw the end of 'Suga's title reign and he will now have to regroup in hopes of earning another title shot.
During the latest episode of his Pound 4 Pound podcast with co-host Kamaru Usman, the former two-division UFC champion criticised O'Malley's performance and asserted that O'Malley was exposed for his lack of five-round experience.
"Sean [O'Malley] is not accustomed to going five rounds. He is not accustomed to people on his legs. I still go back and say, 'Hey, that fight with Aljamain Sterling, that was a fluke too'... It's like, no, I've been in there with Merab [Dvalishvili], I did a whole lot better than Sean...I took down Merab. Merab is lucky I had that groin injury and I'm still planning on running it back but either way, Sean O'Methly got his a** kicked for five rounds and I can't wait to get him next."

Henry Cejudo claims Sean O'Malley was fast tracked to a title shot
In addition to analyzing Sean O'Malley's performance at Noche UFC 306 this past Saturday, Henry Cejudo claimed that the former bantamweight champion was fast tracked to a title shot.
'Triple C' argued that 'Suga' wasn't put against the top contenders on his surge up the ranks like he and Kamaru Usman were. Cejudo mentioned that O'Malley's fights were all favorable opponents in order to expedite his title run:
"Sean [O'Malley] never went through the ringer like we did to get to the title. Yeah granted, he did get that victory [against] Aljamain Sterling but did he really?...[Petr Yan?] but even that one, was it a great fight? Yes, but I don't know which round he won either. Sean was speeded up to a title shot. They're just being fed with favorable fights."
