Dillon Danis attempted to criticize the title fight in the UFC 304 main event. However, the former Bellator welterweight was met with severe backlash.

With the news of Leon Edwards headlining UFC 304 against Belal Muhammad for the UFC welterweight championship, Danis was quick to condemn the matchup, predicting it to be the "lowest-selling PPV of all time." The former Brazilian jiu-jitsu prodigy has always been critical of both Edwards and Muhammad's supposed lack of excitement.

Beneath the Instagram post, Danis commented:

Though Danis' comment was not far off from many other reactions on Instagram, many were quick to chastise 'El Jefe' for his vain remark. One fan in particular reminded Danis how his last fight went with former YouTuber Logan Paul.

Is Dillon Danis still an active MMA fighter?

Despite not officially announcing his retirement, former Bellator fighter Dillon Danis has not competed in MMA since 2019. On his official record, Danis is 2-0, last submitting Max Humphrey at Bellator 222.

In late 2023, after not fighting for over four years, Danis was released from his Bellator contract and remains a free agent in 2024.

The 30-year-old most recently competed in a celebrity boxing fight, losing to Logan Paul in October 2023 by disqualification.

Despite being semi-retired from MMA competition, Danis' social media activity insinuates that he is still actively looking for fights. Following his release from Bellator, 'El Jefe' pushed to be signed by the UFC but was unable to receive an offer.
