Conor McGregor has taken aim at Michael Chandler with a 'GigaChad' meme video. Fight fans soon chimed in with their reactions to it.
Chandler has been linked to a potential fight against McGregor since 2022. Their welterweight (170-pound) bout was to headline UFC 303 (June 2024), but McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury. Subsequently, the UFC booked Chandler, who hasn't fought since November 2022, to face Charles Oliveira in a rematch at UFC 309 (Nov. 16, 2024).
Combat sports megastar Conor McGregor, who hasn't competed since July 2021, has now re-posted a meme video by the "@lune_meme" to his Instagram Stories. It features a scene from TUF 31 in which he and Michael Chandler appeared as rival coaches last year.

In the much-discussed scene from TUF 31, Michael Chandler alluded to Conor McGregor hinting that their fight could be contested in the middleweight (185-pound) division. He said:
"You do 185, I'll do 185."
McGregor responded by saying:
"You'll do what you're told."
The video's captions seemingly jibed that Chandler "waited 2 years." McGregor was labeled as "CHAD MCRIZZOR," incorporating the terms 'Chad' and 'Rizz,' alluding that he exudes confidence and attractiveness. McGregor's face was digitally altered to appear akin to the 'GigaChad' meme model.

Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler: 'Iron' pivots from the long-awaited fight for the time being
Numerous fans argued that Michael Chandler already waited for an expected big-money matchup against Conor McGregor since late 2022 and could've held on till early 2025, rather than facing Charles Oliveira. Dana White and McGregor have both hinted that the latter could return in 2025.
For his part, Chandler explained that he intends to avenge his 2021 defeat against Charles Oliveira and earn a UFC lightweight title shot. 'Iron' underscored that he'd love to fight Islam Makhachev and is still open to fighting McGregor whenever the latter returns.
