Newly crowned ONE interim women's atomweight MMA world champion 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga is filled with gratitude following her historic world title victory over Ukraine's Alyona Rassohyna last weekend.
Zamboanga finished Rassohyna in the second round of a spirited atomweight clash to capture the interim gold at ONE Fight Night 27, as well as take home a $50,000 bonus.
After the fight, Zamboanga told veteran MMA reporter Nick Atkin that she was thankful for the support from her teammates.

"They know how long we’ve been waiting for this opportunity. And now, I took this with a finish and a bonus, so we’re very grateful and blessed."
Zamboanga heads back to the Philippines 50 grand richer and with 20 pounds of gold in tow.
ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video was broadcast live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand last Saturday, Jan. 11.

Denice Zamboanga glad to have showcased improved overall game in victory over Alyona Rassohyna
The Philippines' 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga looked absolutely phenomenal in a second-round TKO victory over Alyona Rassohyna last weekend at ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video.
Zamboanga told ONE Championship that she was glad to have showcased all the skills and improvements she had been working on leading up to the fight.
'The Menace' said:
"Now, for this fight, I'm more comfortable with my striking and also with my top game and also my grappling skills."
Zamboanga is now set up for a highly anticipated atomweight world title unification bout against close friend and reigning queen Stamp Fairtex, which is expected to go down sometime later this year.
