Alex Pereira and Merab Dvalishvili have just become the center of a new rivalry, albeit one fabricated by the fans and for comedic reasons. The UFC bantamweight title challenger recently shared a short skit involving him and one of the promotion's most notable strawweights in Polyana Viana.
The skit, which was shared on Instagram, consists of the pair having lunch at a restaurant, with Dvalishvili pulling a chair out for Viana, before his focus strays toward a nearby screen showing footage of Sean O'Malley's recent title defense against Marlon 'Chito' Vera.

It was one of Dvalishvili's many skits and a nod towards his upcoming bantamweight title challenge against O'Malley, who he is rumored to face at UFC 306, which has since been rebranded as 'Riyadh Season Noche UFC.' The skit was a hit with the MMA fandom, with many flocking to the comments section.
One fan poked fun at Alex Pereira's past relationship with the Brazilian strawweight.
"Guy took Alex Pereira girl"
Similar jokes were made by others, including fellow MMA fighters.
"Poatan doesn't like this"
The skit even drew Viana's attention, as she also popped up in its comment section.
"So romantic"
Meanwhile, popular UFC content creator Nina-Marie Daniele praised 'The Machine' for his comedic talent.
"A comedic genius"
A collage of some reactions can be seen below:

Pereira himself has said nothing of the skit and likely won't, given his reserved nature and understated sense of humor. Instead, 'Poatan' is likely to remain focused on either defending his light heavyweight title against a boastful Magomed Ankalaev, or hunting for undisputed heavyweight gold against Jon Jones.
Alex Pereira and Merab Dvalishvili aren't the only UFC fighters to whom Polyana Viana has been linked
Alex Pereira received a tremendous amount of attention for his past relationship with Polyana Viana, while Merab Dvalishvili appears to only be collaborating with her for social media skits, as he often does with others. However, there have been other UFC fighters who have been spotted in her company.
The strawweight was previously linked to Colby Covington, who claimed to have had a physical relationship with her after sharing a picture of the two of them hugging during training. While Viana denied the former's claim, she later claimed that Covington had asked her to perform a lewd act on him.
