Episode #2245 of The Joe Rogan Experience welcomed political commentator and former Illinois governor Rod R. Blagojevich. As the pair conversed about the United States' political landscape, Rogan found himself defending one of the most infamous comments made by President-elect Donald Trump.
Back in 2005, Trump filmed 'Hollywood Access' and while on a tour bus with television host Billy Bush, spoke about making unwanted sexual advances on women. According to Trump, his fame made it easier for him to make said advances, culminating in the infamous, "Grab 'em by the p***y" quote.
The remark drew tremendous backlash from both the media and political circles and nearly derailed Trump's political aspirations right before the 2016 U.S. presidential elections. Rogan, however, has dismissed the seriousness of Trump's comments, saying:
"Well, that's the same thing as the 'Grab 'em by the p***y' comment. It's, like, guys talk like that. It doesn't mean they mean it. Guys talk like that all the time for fun. It's not... you know, you could say it's misogynist, it's this [it's that], it's just sh*t-talking. It's what guys do and they know that the other person doesn't mean it, that's why it's funny to say."

It's a controversial stance from the longtime UFC commentator, but one that's expected of him given how much he has acquainted himself with the right-wing politics. Moreover, Rogan recently repaired his relationship with Trump, which was once in jeopardy due to his support of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
During the 2024 U.S. presidential race, Kennedy briefly ran as an independent candidate before dropping out in favor of endorsing Trump. However, Rogan's past description of Kennedy as a sensible option had enraged Trump, who lashed out at the podcaster before they eventually resolved their issues.
