South Korean MMA sensation and ONE atomweight star Ham Seo Hee effectively put an end to her rivalry with Japanese rising star Itsuki Hirata in ONE's atomweight ranks. 'Hamzzang' beat 'Android 18' via a unanimous decision on the main card of ONE Fight Night 8 last weekend.

Hirata, being a judo-based fighter, tried many times to take the fight to the ground but was easily thwarted by Ham on almost all fronts. Because of this, however, the South Korean slugger wasn't able to get enough openings to land her knockout blow.

In an interview with SCMP MMA on YouTube, Ham Seo Hee spoke about Hirata's unwillingness to engage in the striking department. She then expressed her desire to have a more worthy dance partner next time around:

"I would really love to do that, but once again it’s very very hard for one person to aim for that knockout. There’s gotta be a dance to it. But if ONE Championship’s willing to give me someone who’s willing to dance with me, I’m sure an exciting result would follow."

That will depend on the outcome of the next high-profile atomweight match. Ham could face the winner between Stamp Fairtex and Alyse Anderson in the pair’s ONE Fight Night 10 matchup.

ONE Fight Night 10 is set for May 5 at the 1stBank Center in Colorado and will be broadcast live and for free on North American television via Prime Video.

Ham Seo Hee outclasses Itsuki Hirata in a three-round shutout performance at ONE Fight Night 8

Both Ham Seo Hee and Itsuki Hirata started the fight hesitantly, with the South Korean putting on the pressure. Hirata initiated her first takedown attempt two minutes in, but Ham was able to easily stuff it. The rest of the round saw Hirata desperately trying to get a takedown, while Ham had no problem negating all of her attempts.

Before the start of the second round, referee Herb Dean issued a stern yellow card warning to Itsuki Hirata for inactivity. The Japanese MMA star, however, still went back to her poor takedown attempts for the most part in the round. She even went for a desperate guard pull to no success. Ham, on the other hand, was able to elicit her own attacks in-between Hirata's takedown attempts.

In the third round, Hirata ultimately received a yellow card from Herb Dean. After the warning, Hirata proceeded to push Ham to the cage and finally scored a takedown. It was too little too late, however, as Ham Seo Hee had already done more than enough to secure a unanimous decision win.
