The Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez bout is one of boxing's highlights this weekend, pitting Estrada's legendary chin against Rodriguez's power and aggression. However, the latter will have quite the task ahead of him, as Estrada has never been knocked out.

Despite having competed in 47 professional boxing matches and 98 amateur bouts, Estrada has never been stopped. While he has lost, having only ever suffered defeat thrice to Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Román González, and Juan Carlos Carlos Sánchez Jr., no one has ever shut his lights out.

That is especially shocking given the monstrous punching power possessed by both Sor Rungvisai and González. Rodriguez, however, will look make history by becoming the first boxer to stop Estrada and recapture the WBC super flyweight title that he once held, and The Ring super flyweight strap that he never has.

Even just beating him, let alone knocking him out, will be a tall order. Estrada is currently at the helm of an 8-fight win streak, during which he avenged his losses to both Sor Rungvisai and González (2x). His edge in experience could also prove troublesome for 'Bam,' who has far fewer fights at just 19 professional bouts.

There is, however, no understating Rodriguez's confidence. He is ten years Estrada's junior and undefeated. Furthermore, he TKO'd Sor Rungvisai, beating him in a far more convincing fashion than Estrada did. Whether that will factor into their clash remains to be seen, but boxing fans should expect a barnburner.

Will experience and veteran savvy win out, or will Rodriguez recapture WBC gold amid his quest for undisputed super flyweight supremacy?

Juan Francisco Estrada is not a power puncher

Despite being blessed with an iron chin, Juan Francisco Estrada is not known for his knockouts, having only stopped three of his last eight opponents. So, while a tank, he is not a destructive force in the ring. He is, instead, an example of the much-praised Mexican heart, output, and toughness.

He will look to put his skills and grit to use in his bout with Jesse Rodriguez later tonight, hoping to emerge victorious as he marches toward the milestone of taking part in 50 professional bouts. Curiously, although he is the defending champion, Estrada is regarded as the underdog in the bout.
