Colby Covington's re-emergence on the UFC's stage has coincided with a fresh attack on NBA superstar LeBron James. The former welterweight title challenger has taken aim at James for his alleged connections to P. Diddy, the former hip-hop star who has been accused of sexual assault, human trafficking and a number of other charges.

'Chaos' targeted the LA Lakers star during the UFC Tampa pre-fight media day, where he insinuated that James and P. Diddy were connected. However, the extent to which 'King James' has affiliation with the former rapper is yet to be confirmed.

Following the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC Tampa, Covington was interviewed by Full Send MMA. He was asked to share his thoughts on James' recent announcement that he would be taking personal leave from the NBA, with 'Chaos' saying:

"Yeah, it's kind of weird you know. We were talking the other day at media day and I was saying the truth about LeBron, speaking facts. I'm speaking what everybody wants to say but they're afraid to say, that LeBron was saying, 'There's no party like a Diddy party.' He's been to multiple Diddy parties. We all want to know how many Diddy parties he's been at."

He continued:

"Coincidentally after I tell you guys the other day at media day, all of a sudden he's radio-silent. He's taking an indefinite leave and nowhere to be found. Where'd you go LeBron? Why'd you leave? Do you have something to hide?"

Colby Covington labeled as "scared" by Joaquin Buckley ahead of UFC Tampa

Colby Covington and Joaquin Buckley will face off in the main event of UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, the final event of the promotion's 2024 calendar year. Buckley is currently surging through the division, and has won his last five fights, three of which have come via stoppage.

But 'Chaos' is not quite in the same vein of form, and is 2-3 in his last five fights.

The pair shared their final face-off ahead of fight night at the ceremonial weigh-ins on Dec. 13, after which Buckley was interviewed by ESPN MMA. He said:

"Obviously with Colby being such a character, he didn't pop out today. And I haven't seen him all week. My first indication is when I saw, which Colby am I going to see out there? The character, or a little shy kid. And I saw a little shy kid. I feel like with Colby, he's really scared, he's really nervous. "
