Colby Covington recently bashed Ian Machado Garry following accusations that 'Chaos' turned down a fight against the Irishman. Covington labeled the allegations as "fake news" and revisited the three stipulations he had stated for accepting a fight against Garry previously.

Covington failed to impress fans and the current U.S. president, Donald Trump, with his last performance at UFC 296. Trump left the T-Mobile Arena before Covington completed his post-fight interview. He is now set to make his return against Joaquin Buckley at the main event of UFC Tampa on Dec. 14.

A large chunk of UFC fans wanted Covington to face Garry next. However, 'Chaos' presented a few conditions to accept the fight against 'The Future'. On the other hand, Garry ultimately accepted the offer to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov after his scheduled rival, Belal Muhammad, pulled out of their UFC 310 encounter.

During the UFC 310 media day, Garry fired a shot at Covington, saying he would never accept a fight against him due to the fear of defeat. He also accused 'Chaos' of ducking him with excuses but accepting his next fight against Buckley at once:

"[Covington] just magically reappeared out of thin air [to accept the fight against Buckley, despite ducking Garry]. He just came out of nowhere, didn’t he? ‘Oh yeah, I’ll do it!’ It just shows he’s a coward. It proves that he never, ever, ever wanted to fight me in the first place."

However, in a recent interview with CBS Sports' Shakiel Mahjouri, Covington debunked Garry's allegations, labeling them as "fake news". He mentioned he had never been offered a fight against Garry, apart from stressing the "three stipulations" he had asked Garry to fulfill before accepting a fight against him. Covington said:

"That's fake news. That's a complete lie. You can ask Dana White, you can ask Hunter Campbell. Those guys have said numerous times, 'Colby doesn't turn down fights'... [An] Ian Garry fight has never been offered.

Covington also stressed the "three stipulations" he had asked Garry to fulfill before accepting a fight against him:

"I told him [Garry], 'Hey, you got three easy stipulations if you gotta fight me'. Because what does fighting him do for my career? He's a c*ck... He doesn't get to call shots like I do, because he hasn't been here and accomplished what I have. I asked for three easy stipulations, [number one] turn on the [Instagram] comments for the fans. He couldn't do it. [number two] Have your wife make a video asking for the fight. He couldn't do it."

Colby Covington also bashed another fighter who had criticized him recently

Colby Covington may have bragged about his nonchalant nature of accepting fights in the aforementioned interview. However, Shavkat Rakhmonov expressed a completely different opinion about him a few days back.

In one of his recent X updates, Rakhmonov mentioned that Covington rejected the UFC's offer to fight him after Belal Muhammad pulled out of UFC 310. 'Nomad' wrote:

"I’m very disappointed in our division. Belal, Leon, Colby, Kamaru, Jack, Sean - you’ve all let fans down. The only one who backed up his words is Ian, and I respect that. But make no mistake, @iangarryMMA - I’m coming for your 0 and will fight for the belt after."

Covington denied Rakhmonov's accusations in his interview with Majhouri. However, he also fired a shot at 'Nomad's' UFC 310 performance at the pre-UFC Tampa press conference:

"I heard it [Rakhmonov's UFC 310 fight] was boring. I heard his stock went down. He got exposed. He was all hype, you know. He's got all finishes against all nobody's. He beat the bus-boy from Outback Steakhouse that serves blooming onions like, how prestigious is that?"
