In a recent episode (#2242) of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast, UFC commentator Joe Rogan discussed Gordon Ryan's physique with guest Bert Sorin and shared his thoughts on whether it is natural or not.
Ryan is regarded as one of the greatest grapplers of all time, holding a remarkable seven ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship titles. He has been vocal about his belief that athletes should use performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to improve their performance, a stance that has sparked debate in the sports world. Ryan has been exchanging words with Mikey Musumeci, who strongly disapproves of any drugs in sports.
Rogan and Sorin were discussing the intense training required for athletes, with Sorin mentioning that no athlete can train every day in a year. That's when Ryan's name came up, and Rogan asserted that the seven-time ADCC champion is definitely on steroids, as it's visible in his physique and his ability to train every day.
"That's where steroids come in, and that's why Gordon Ryan can train 365 days a year. He's open about it, like he's open about his use because they don't test for steroids in jiu-jitsu. So, you know, he's a wizard, he's a pragmatist... Have you ever seen Gordon? Have you ever seen him shirt off? He ain't passing any tests."

Rogan added:
"He trains 365 days a year and also works on technique constantly. That's how you have the greatest of all time... it's a level playing field, they're all juiced up."

Joe Rogan advocates for manslaughter charges in MMA PED cases
Joe Rogan has been vocal, both now and in the past, that any fighter found using steroids during or after a fight should be strictly punished and charged. He has urged many fighters not to use PEDs, as it could potentially kill someone during their bout.
In one of the episodes of JRE, the UFC commentator said:
"Cheating [with PEDs in MMA] is not about a guy crossing the finish line faster than you. It's about a guy or a woman landing blows that they wouldn't have been able to land had they not been cheating [with PEDs]. What if someone dies? What if someone is doping, and it's proven that he's doping, and the beating that he gives his opponent leaves him dying? You could make an argument that manslaughter charges should, at least, be filed."
