Filipino strawweight sensation and ex-Team Lakay member 'Thunder Kid' Lito Adiwang is more than slightly intrigued with divisional rival 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks' decision to move up to flyweight.

The interim strawweight MMA king will be moving up a division to face off against a top-five contender this weekend, and Adiwang believes there are both advantages and disadvantages to the decision.

For one, Adiwang says Brooks is simply a little small for flyweight, and will be giving up size to whoever he steps in the ring with. On the other hand, Adiwang says Brooks being small also makes 'The Monkey God' a lot harder to catch.

Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, Adiwang talked about Brooks' chances at flyweight.

'Thunder Kid' said:

"It’s 50-50 for me. I think there’s going to be an advantage and disadvantage. An advantage would be that he would not be easy to catch. On the flipside, if he does get caught, it’s more difficult. I noticed when I roll with others, if I do it with bigger opponents, once they catch me in a submission, it’s a bit tight compared to someone with the same height."

Brooks makes his flyweight MMA debut this weekend at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video.
