British superstar Jonathan Haggerty is making the move up to bantamweight for his upcoming fight at ONE on Prime Video 4. In the bout's lead-up, 'The General' has warned his opponent of his increased power.
Haggerty is scheduled to face Russia's Vladimir Kuzmin in what will be his first appearance since March. Two fight cancelations after led to the 25-year-old's decision to move up in weight class.
Haggerty recently sent a warning to Kuzmin in a conversation with The MMA Superfan. He stated:
"He should expect a harder fight than when he fought Muangthai. He should expect me to hit like a bantamweight and not a flyweight."

Jonathan Haggerty is referring to Kuzmin's ONE Muay Thai debut, which was a split decision loss against Muangthai PK Saenchai. Haggerty is undoubtedly a more seasoned fighter than Muangthai, but Kuzmin certainly learned a lot from that match.
Jonathan Haggerty chose bantamweight over MMA
Haggerty's recent fight cancelations forced him to make a career-altering decision. In the same interview, 'The General' revealed that he pondered transitioning to MMA:
“The plan was, I sat down with my team, and there were two options. We can go bantamweight Muay Thai or we can go fully into MMA. I chose bantamweight Muay Thai because I feel like I want to get the belt again at Muay Thai. I’m destined to get that. I want that belt, especially the new belt. We chose Muay Thai.”
While the British superstar may have chosen Muay Thai for now, he didn't completely count out a future move to MMA:
"With the MMA sparring, I wouldn’t obviously do it while I’m in fight camp. I just do it when I’m out of fight camp just to keep active. Who knows, I could be going into MMA real soon. So just to get the rounds in, getting used to it, its no harm. But like I said, I won’t be doing that in fight camp."
Jonathan Haggerty will make his bantamweight Muay Thai debut against Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18, live from Singapore Indoor Stadium.
