ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion Christian Lee believes Alibeg Rasulov's wrestling skills will not trouble him when he defends the 170-pound MMA crown at ONE Fight Night 26 on Friday, Dec. 6.
In an interview with the Bangkok Post, Lee was asked whether he expects the Turkish star to use his wrestling to hold him against the ring ropes if Rasulov cannot take him down — similar to how Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane won 26 pounds of heavyweight MMA gold from then-three-division MMA king Anatoly Malykhin in November.
'The Warrior' responded:
"No, it's nothing that concerns me. I fought in a ring before, I have a full-sized boxing ring at my gym back home at Prodigy Training Center, so I've had a lot of experience training in the ring. I think that in his fight with Ok, he went to the takedown initially, but when he couldn't find success there, he found success holding him against the ring."

As Lee pointed out, Rasulov used this strategy to overwhelm former lightweight MMA king Ok Rae Yoon at ONE Fight Night 23 in July and win via unanimous decision.
Based on his comments, Lee appears to have prepared for whenever Rasulov decides to reenact the same game plan inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Alibeg Rasulov is entering ONE Fight Night 26 with complete confidence that he can dethrone Christian Lee and become the new lightweight MMA king.
In an interview with ONE, Rasulov shed light on where he gets his high self-esteem:
"Dagestan has a lot of fighters who are of a higher level than Christian Lee. And I meet them daily at sparring."
