"Demetrious Johnson, Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, I'm going to have to throw Anderson Silva in there, and I'm gonna throw my boy Israel Adesanya as well. A lot of championships, and when it comes to striking, I honestly think he's the greatest striker the UFC's ever seen."

Volkanovski has been on hiatus since February when he lost his featherweight title to Ilia Topuria at UFC 298. Meanwhile, 'The Last Stylebender' is preparing for his return after falling short in his attempt to reclaim the middleweight championship from Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in August.
Adesanya is poised to square off against Nassourdine Imavov in the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia on Feb. 1, 2025, at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.
When Israel Adesanya reacted to Alexander Volkanovski's UFC 294 defeat
Israel Adesanya was firmly supporting Alexander Volkanovski as he made his second attempt at capturing the lightweight title from reigning champion Islam Makhachev on short notice at UFC 294 in October 2023.
'The Last Stylebender' streamed his live reaction on YouTube as Makhachev delivered a shocking first-round knockout, shattering Volkanovski's hopes of becoming a two-division UFC champion.
As the head kick caught Volkanovski, an eerie silence filled the room, with Adesanya visibly crushed by his friend's loss, saying:
"F**k, it was a left kick from southpaw [stance]. Boy went over the head and just clipped him... Still the best, bro. I love this dude."
