ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks of the United States wants this to be the last thing he will say about his infamous head spike of Filipino rival Joshua Pacio last March.
The 31-year-old Mash Fight Team representative says he was so used to training and wrestling with bigger guys in camp, that he miscalculated his own strength against Pacio and that the head spike was unintentional.
Speaking to YouTube channel, The MMA Superfan, in a recent interview, Brooks talked about not knowing and understanding his own power.

'The Monkey God' stated:
"You know, I think that that was a downfall on that Pacio fight too, because he was lighter than I was expecting. So, yeah, I'm going against these bigger guys anyway. You don't get hurt when you're in a fight usually. You get hurt when you're in the gym and bro."
Brooks battled Pacio at ONE 166: Qatar last March. Unfortunately for 'The Monkey God', the fight didn't last very long. Within moments of the opening bell, the American took his Filipino rival's back, and then suplexed him on his head -- an illegal move in ONE Championship.
Brooks was disqualified and strawweight gold was awarded to Pacio
Jarred Brooks is set to make flyweight MMA debut against Reece McLaren at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video
'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks will leave the strawweight division behind temporarily as he seeks a berth in the flyweight MMA division's top five by taking on fourth-ranked 'Lightning' Reece McLaren.
The two lock horns at ONE Fight Night 26: Lee vs. Rasulov on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime on Friday, Dec. 6 from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
