“He might be ranked but he's got no followers” - Paddy Pimblett dodges Bobby Green’s callout, shares preferred opponent for UFC Manchester showdown

Paddy Pimblett is confident he will be a part of UFC 304 but does not believe he will give in to the callout he received from Bobby Green.

After Green bludgeoned Jim Miller for 15 minutes at UFC 300, 'King' used his post-fight callout to express his desire to fight Pimblett. Green said he desires to face Pimblett after 'The Baddy' called him out first.

Pimblett, however, rejected the idea in a recent video posted on his YouTube channel. Pimblett mentioned his desire to face Renato Moicano at UFC 304 instead, saying:

"Bobby Green screamed my name on the mic after [UFC 300]...Know what I mean? I think you'll see your boy on [UFC 304]... [Bobby Green] might be ranked but he's got no followers and he needs me... Bobby Green's an option if Bobby Green wants to fight. I'd rather fight my boy Moicano. Where you at Renato?... I'd rather go right in at rank 10 rather than beating rank 15."

Pimblett and Moicano have been going back and forth for several months, with the latter expressing his frustration with the situation on The MMA Hour in March. Moicano, who beat Jalin Turner on the prelims of UFC 300, said he feels that Pimblett only calls him out when he already has a fight booked and wants to face the British lightweight before the end of 2024.

Since beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 295, Pimblett has been out of action and recently celebrated the birth of twins with his wife.

Bobby Green's callout of Paddy Pimblett at UFC 300

Bobby Green's performance against Jim Miller on UFC 300 was mostly forgotten by the end of the night but the lightweight veteran proved he is still elite at 37 years old with a dominant decision win. After the victory, Green emphatically called for a fight with Paddy Pimblett due to 'The Baddy' previously mentioning his name as a potential opponent.

Green called Pimblett 'slimy,' saying he was 'coming after' the 29-year-old and wanted to fight in the United Kingdom.

As of April 27, the UFC has officially confirmed UFC 304 to be in Manchester but has not announced any fights for the card. Interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has claimed to be the main event but no fights are currently listed on the company website.
