ONE strawweight kickboxing star Zhang Peimian is positive that the legendary Sam-A Gaiyanghadao will not be able to contend against his speedy offense at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Friday, Nov. 8, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

'Fighting Rooster' pointed out his advantage over Sam-A in an interview with the world's largest martial arts promotion, saying:

"He has rich experience in both kickboxing and Muay Thai, but I think I have more of an advantage in kickboxing. His straight cross and knee strikes are very well-known, but his weakness might be his physical ability because he is old."

Zhang is no stranger to back-and-forth wars in his ONE tenure, as exemplified by his thrilling battles with Aliff Sor Dechapan this past April at ONE Friday Fights 58 and Jonathan Di Bella in October 2022 over the then-vacant 125-pound kickboxing crown.

However, Sam-A will be the Shengli Fight Club product's most challenging opponent yet owing to his decades of experience in the striking arts that saw him earn his 374th career win with a first-round knockout of Akram Hamidi at ONE Friday Fights 81 this past September.

Sam-A planning to exploit weaknesses he has found in Zhang Peimian's game

Despite being one of the oldest active fighters on the ONE roster, Sam-A is counting on his immense fight IQ to develop a winning strategy against Zhang Peimian at ONE 169.

The 41-year-old Muay Thai and kickboxing great told ONE:

"I discovered many weaknesses in him, such as when he punches, he leaves windows open. My main advantage in this fight is probably my experience. I've fought many different styles of fighters, and he's not new."

ONE 169 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
