Joe Rogan recently weighed in on the upcoming heavyweight title clash between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, which is scheduled to headline UFC 309. He noted that 'Bones' is motivated when he competes in significant bouts and reached a point at light heavyweight where he lost interest.

Jones is undoubtedly the greatest light heavyweight of all time and will now look to add a win over the most successful UFC heavyweight champion. Miocic is coming in with a point to prove as well as many in the MMA community have diminished his chances of defeating Jones because of his age and inactivity since his loss to Francis Ngannou.

During episode #2220 of JRE, the UFC commentator shared his thoughts on dominance and pointed out a motivating factor for him at this stage of his career.

Rogan mentioned that Jones appeared disinterested in his final bouts at 205-pound. But when motivated like he was for his rematch with Alexander Gustafsson, showcased why many consider him to be the greatest of all-time:

"He was playing with his food. It's mostly Jon [Jones] was bored. He was so dominant that he would not train, you know? When he fought Alexander Gustafsson, they said he barely trained at all and still beat him in the stretch and then the rematch wanted to prove a point, so trained really hard and beat the sh*t out of Gustafsson."

Joe Rogan points out when Jon Jones is at his best

In addition to sharing his thoughts on Jon Jones' dominance at light heavyweight, Joe Rogan pointed out when 'Bones' is truly at his best.

During the aforementioned episode, Rogan used the famous rivalry with Daniel Cormier as an example and mentioned that Jones hits another gear when he feels threatened by his opponents.

With Jon, a lot of it is he's so much better than everybody else like when he's really threatened with [Daniel] Cormier then you see how good he really is. Like, when he knocked out Cormier with that head kick, that's when you see how good he is. When he's pushed."
