Jon Jones is regarded as the consensus MMA GOAT and combat sports athletes often desire to meet him. An instance of this happened recently at Mike Perry's promotion Dirty Boxing Championship's card that went down on Nov. 23.

The inaugural DBC card was a private event with many combat sports luminaries in attendance including a newly minted bare-knuckle boxing champion, Jamie Driver.

Furthermore, Jamie cemented herself as the BYB Police Gazette Diamond welterweight champion at BYB 34: Brawl in the Pines IV. This victory saw her finish Sonya Dreiling inside the distance during their rematch.

Jamie Driver appeared on Bare Knuckle Bowker before her title winning fight and touched on what happened during her meeting with Jones last month. Jamie said:

"It's Jon Jones, he's the GOAT. I was going to make my way over there to at least say what's up and get a picture. Of course the first thing I rattle off is I'm a bare-knuckle fighter. You should come to my fight December sixth. I basically just told him about myself and he should come to my fight. A lot of people were kind of getting it confused in the video."
"Thinking he was flirting or whatever. All he said was, well they missed this part of the video because it wasn't in there, but he was punching me in the stomach [laughs]. He said wow, you're like a brick. You're built like a brick and whatever, whatever, he wished me luck. That was really it but it was really, really cool to meet him," she added.

Jon Jones' thoughts on Dirty Boxing Championship kickoff card

Jon Jones was relatively fresh off of his UFC heavyweight title defense against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 as he looked to be entertained by the in-ring exploits of Dirty Boxing Championship.

The 37-year-old seemed especially fired up about the Dirty Boxing main event between Yoel Romero and Duane Crespo.

Former UFC middleweight title challenger Romero finished Power Slap competitior Crespo with an astonishing straight left as the heavyweight knockout got traction on social media thereafter.

Jon Jones was particularly enthused about the effort from Romero but seemed thoroughly entertained by the DBC card overall. Jones seemed confident that this new form of combat sport can thrive going ahead. Here's what he said:

"I'm really excited to be here at Dirty Boxing. I really think this sport is gonna blow up. You got boxing, you got spinning elbows and spinning back-fist, forward elbows, it's exciting to be here and I really think it's gonna blow up, I'm really glad to be here for the first show."
