Episode #2249 of The Joe Rogan Experience featured fellow comedians Yannis Pappas and Chris Distefano, with whom the UFC commentator discussed the promotion's top undefeated welterweight, Shavkat Rakhmonov. In particular, 'Nomad' was brought up in response to a topic about an extinct people.
They reacted to an article about a reported discovery of a mysterious, ancient people distinguished by their large heads. This group of people, related to Denisovans and Neanderthals, are believed to have gone extinct roughly 100,000 years ago in eastern Asia.
"So this is it. Large head people. Mysterious new form of ancient human emerges. This is it. So a provocative new piece in Nature has proposed a whole new group of ancient humans."
Moreover, they are believed to have consumed horses. When one of Rogan's guests expressed astonishment over horses being a dietary staple of ancient humans, the veteran voice of the UFC brought up Rakhmonov.

"Oh yeah, oh a lot of people eat horses, man. Shavkat Rakhmonov, the number one contender in the welterweight division, says it's his favorite food. Yeah, he's from Kazakhstan. He rides horses, and he eats horses. He's like, 'I love horse.' He loves them all the way."

Rakhmonov is one of the most promising fighters on the roster, having recently defeated Ian Machado Garry at UFC 310 to solidify his position as the welterweight division's next title challenger.
Rakhmonov's prior 100% finishing rate came to an end. However, it is noteworthy that he claimed to have been hampered by injury during his post-fight interview with Rogan.
Joe Rogan once adopted a carnivore diet
Joe Rogan is no stranger to eyebrow-raising diets, having once committed to a month-long carnivore experiment after advice he had received from controversial psychologist Jordan Peterson. Given his well-known interest in physical health, Rogan was more than willing to adopt the diet, even offering updates on X/Twitter.
"Carnivore diet update: lost 12 pounds, feel amazing. Lots of aches and pains went away, and I have improvements in my vitiligo. I'm impressed. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep eating like this but this month..."
As a result of his brief experiment with a carnivore diet, Rogan claimed to have experienced a host of health benefits, including improvements with his vitiligo.
