"He's beaten everyone" - Jonathan Haggerty bares admiration for ONE 168 challenger Superlek

Jonathan Haggerty knows how big the challenge in front of him is as he undergoes preparations for ONE 168. The Brit is no stranger to facing off with the best in the world, and during his time in ONE Championship, he's taken on anyone that is in his way.

However, on September 6 he faces a competitor that many believe to be the best in the world right now. ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek will be moving up to bantamweight to challenge Haggerty for his Muay Thai gold.

It's set to be one of the biggest contests of the entire year and a true dream fight for striking fans based on the recent trajectories of both men.

In a recent interview with the Sky Sports MMA Club, Haggerty spoke about the respect that he has for his next challenger. He said that watching him beat the best of the best only gives him more motivation to try and bring his opponent's winning streak to an end:

"He's just a great fighter, you know. Growing up, I used to watch him fight. He's got all the weapons, to beat anyone in the world. He's beaten everyone, so it's up to me now to make sure he doesn't beat me. That's it."

The prospect of Jonathan Haggerty facing Superlek wasn't the kind of fight that came out of nowhere. Both men have produced stellar runs as of late, and so an eventual meeting between them seemed inevitable.

Not to mention that they have history with one another. They have competed once before, where Superlek got the win due to a doctor's stoppage.

However, this was a long time ago and was before both men arrived in ONE Championship, so a lot has changed since this point.

Haggerty is out for revenge in what could be his biggest moment to date.

ONE 168 will air live from the Ball Arena in Denver in US primetime on September 6.
