'The Truth' Brandon Vera will be looking to triumph with a knockout and get back in the win column when he faces Iranian heavyweight Amir Aliakbari at ONE 164 on December 3.
Vera lost the ONE heavyweight world championship last year and will begin his road back to the gold when he faces the relentless wrestler. Vera is impressed with the ability and strength of his upcoming opponent.
While speaking with MMA journalist Volt Lozada, Brandon Vera explained how he sees Aliakbari:
"He’s big as a monster. He’s folding people in half when he punches them in the face. Aliakbari, that boy’s mad, he’s nasty, his wrestling’s ridiculous. He can fake his shots while he’s punching and he’s not scared to swing. He’ll close his eyes and swing."

Brandon Vera is ready for war at ONE 164
'The Truth' Brandon Vera is ready for war and any outcome when he battles Aliakbari at ONE 164. In the above interview, the Filipino-American MMA athlete explained his philosophy in the ONE circle:
“This is why strength and conditioning came as such an important factor, right after. We’re going hard in the paint. We’re one of the Spartans. I'm gonna be buried on my shield or carried back home with it. That’s how it is.”
Given how challenging his upcoming opponent will be, Vera has asked his fellow Filipinos to offer him support on December 3. 'The Truth' added:
“That’s where we’re at Philippines, that’s where we’re at Fil-Ams, that’s where we’re at America. This is gonna be a good one. It’s either we’re all in or we’re all out. Either way, it’s gonna be good times.”
