Jonathan Haggerty believes his younger brother, Freddie Haggerty, is also destined for great things in combat sports.

With an impressive 3-0 start to his run in ONE, his older brother — reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty — thinks his brother is just getting started in what is destined for an iconic career in the art of eight limbs.

The 27-year-old spoke of his younger brother during an appearance on the Winners Talking podcast. He said:

"He's seen what I've had to do and what I've done, the hard work and sacrifices I’ve made or I've put in... He's seen it day in and day out. So he knows what it takes and for him to go out there and say I want to do that, he’s born for it."

Jonathan Haggerty defends his title against Wei Rui at ONE 171 in Qatar

While Freddie Haggerty continues to work his way up the ONE Championship ranks, Jonathan Haggerty will look to keep his 26 pounds of gold intact when he returns to the Circle for a can't-miss clash at ONE 171.

Emanating from Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar on Thursday, February 20, 'The General' will put his ONE bantamweight kickboxing crown against Chinese sensation and the division's top-ranked contender, Wei Rui.

Wei earned the opportunity to challenge Haggerty with an impressive showing against former ONE world champion Hiroki Akimoto in his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 22 in May.

Overall, 'Demon Blade' is an incredible 70-3 in his career and has captured titles in multiple organizations, including K-1 where he reigned as the promotion's lightweight titleholder.

ONE 171 will emanate from the Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar on Thursday, February 20. Early bird tickets are now available via ONE Championship’s official website.
