UFC star Sean O'Malley has weighed in on a possible fight between Irish superstar Conor McGregor and current welterweight king Leon Edwards.

In the latest episode of the BrOMalley Show, 'Suga' spoke about the possibility of the fight becoming a reality. According to O'Malley, if McGregor wins his fight against Michael Chandler and Leon Edwards emerges victorious against Kamaru Usman, the UFC would happily matchup the two winners for a title fight:

"If [Conor McGregor] goes out there and beats Michael Chandler and Leon Edwards wins [at UFC 286], you're telling UFC isn't foaming at the mouth to make Leon Edwards versus Conor? I don't like that fight for Conor. Leon is a dangerous dangerous striker and he can grapple like a motherf**ker and he's big."

McGregor has been out of action since July 2021. In his last outing against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, 'The Notorious' suffered a gruesome leg injury and has been out of action ever since. The Irishman recently took up the coaching role for UFC's cult show 'The Ultimate Fighter.' He is expected to fight Michael Chandler in the second half of 2023.

During his recent appearance on Ariel Helwani's show The MMA Hour, 'Mystic Mac' said that with a possible victory over Chandler, he expected to earn a shot at welterweight gold. 'The Notorious' added that he might be in attendance for the UFC 286 card in London.

Leon Edwards weighs in on possibly fighting Conor McGregor

Leon Edwards is currently set to defend his welterweight throne in a trilogy fight against Kamaru Usman on March 18th. During the UFC 286 pre-fight press conference, Edwards was asked for his thoughts on a potential fight against 'The Notorious.' 'Rocky' said that he was open to the idea of fighting Conor McGregor:

"As the king, I welcome all challengers so whoever comes can get it... Him and whoever comes next. Now, I'm focused on Kamaru Usman. I believe that he's the toughest challenge right now in the division, and I'm focused on that. Whoever comes next, that's what it is, you know?"

Replying to the same question, Kamaru Usman said:

"I've always said I'd welcome it, so if it happens, it happens."
