Canadian grappling powerhouse Dante Leon oozes confidence as he heads into his sophomore outing in ONE Championship. Still, that does not mean he will overlook what his opposite number brings to the table on fight night.
The Pedigo Submission Fighting standout locks horns with Tommy Langaker in a catchweight submission grappling contest set for ONE Fight Night 27 inside the Lumpinee Stadium on Jan. 10.
Having tackled one obstacle with relative ease on the global stage — tapping ONE veteran Bruno Pucci with a slick triangle armbar at ONE Fight Night 26 — Leon has eyes on another match-winning moment to stay perfect in the promotion.
However, he senses Langaker will be a step up in competition based on his ferocious displays in the organization, and he knows he won't have it easy.

Speaking to Jits Magazine recently, Dante Leon had this to say on his upcoming showdown set for Bangkok, Thailand:
"I have a big challenge on my hands with Tommy. So that's to be addressed for sure. Tommy is a guy who's [a] number one contender for a long time at ONE.
"He really did push Kade in the first match. He really pushed Kade in the second match. He's extremely competitive as well."

Besides knowing the significance of racking a win over Langaker, with Kade Ruotolo's ONE lightweight submission grappling world title in sight, Dante Leon is out for blood come ONE Fight Night 27.
The 29-year-old suffered a defeat on points to the Norweigian wizard at the 2018 IBJJF Pan-American Championship.
Though he was at his typical best, chaining combinations and attacking Langaker with a variety of submissions, the latter managed to steer clear with a couple of catches.
He has improved by miles since that unfortunate night, and with confidence in his stride, the Canadian ground game technician is ready to put on a show this week.
