Jonathan Haggerty has a couple of prospective opponents on his radar, but the Englishman does not want to look too far into the future ahead of what he describes as the toughest test of his career.

The two-sport king makes his return on the global stage at ONE 168: Denver to defend his Muay Thai throne against the last man to defeat him outside of ONE Championship, Superlek Kiatmoo9, on September 6.

With revenge and redemption a top priority when he steps inside the Circle at Ball Arena, understandably, 'The General' prefers to focus solely on the flyweight kickboxing world champion before any talk about meeting Nico Carrillo or Liam Harrison in an all-English contest.

In an appearance on the Sky Sports MMA Club podcast, Jonathan Haggerty had this to say:

"For now, I'm focused on Superlek. I'm gonna fight him first. I believe he's the hardest fighter I need to prepare for."
"He’s way above Liam Harrison and Nico Carrillo. So I feel once I can get past him, let’s get it on Nico Carrillo," Haggerty added.

Why Carrillo and Harrison are perfect dance partners for Jonathan Haggerty?

Harrison and Carrillo are names that the Londoner has been linked to since he attained his bantamweight Muay Thai crown last year before he completed his two-sport haul.

For obvious reasons, a matchup against 'Hitman' is one of the most exciting matchups to make should ONE open their account in the United Kingdom.

A matchup between the pair will pit youth vs. experience, and given their action-only styles, fireworks are guaranteed.

Meanwhile, an England vs. Scotland showdown against 'King of the North' is another one that has all the makings of living up to its hype.

Carrillo fired his way to the top of the bantamweight Muay Thai ranking, and he's long been calling for a shot against Jonathan Haggerty.

Thus far, both men appear to be open to a showdown. However, Haggerty must first clear Superlek next to turn this fight into reality.
