Kade Ruotolo had the opportunity to train with pound-for-pound legend and MMA GOAT contender Demetrious Johnson.

Ahead of Ruotolo's highly anticipated return to the circle on Friday, September 6, the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion was able to both train and talk with Johnson.

Sharing some insight into their time time together, Ruotolo told Bloody Elbow:

"It was a really awesome day. I got to experience a lot of different techniques and talk about stories with him. So, it was super cool. He’s a legend. We did a super podcast."

Though 'Mighty Mouse' has been out of action for more than a year, he still sits atop the ONE flyweight MMA throne after closing out his iconic trilogy with Adriano Moraes at ONE Fight Night 10.

Since then, Johnson has kept busy competing in some of the world's biggest Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments and taking home gold on more than one occasion.

Johnson has left the door open for a return to ONE Championship, but thus far, the AMC Pankration and Evolve MMA megastar has not yet booked another bout with the promotion.

Kade Ruotolo meets Mikey Musumeci in all-champion clash at ONE 168: Denver

As for Kade Ruotolo, the 21-year-old BJJ wizard will return to martial arts' biggest global stage for one of the most anticipated submission grappling matchups in ONE history.

Emanating from Ball Arena in 'The Mile High City', ONE 168: Denver will see Ruotolo put his ONE lightweight submission grappling world title on the line against the promotion's current flyweight titleholder, Mikey Musumeci.

It will be the first time that we see two submission grappling champions collide inside the circle.

Musumeci, like Kade Ruotolo, enters the bout with a perfect 7-0 record under the ONE banner. If he makes it eight straight, he will etch his name in the history books by becoming ONE Championship's first-ever two-division submission grappling world champion.
