Tyson Fury is gearing up to face Oleksandr Usyk in a highly anticipated rematch in Saudi Arabia on Dec. 21, 2024. Fury's preparation for the showdown and his shortcomings from the previous bout drew a reaction from a former WBO champion.

Johnny Nelson highlighted Fury's attitude in the first fight between the boxing juggernauts. Fury squared off against Usyk in May 2024 for an undisputed heavyweight title showdown. After a grueling 12 rounds, the Ukrainian defeated Fury to become the undisputed champ.

Despite a closely contested fight, the 37-year-old Ukrainian was praised by Nelson for his focus in the fight. He also expressed his liking to Fury's revamped preparation for their second meeting.

While talking to Pro Boxing Fans, Nelson commented on Fury's performance in his first fight against Usyk:

"I think Tyson Fury has to do a lot of soul searching from the first loss for many reasons one for the abuse and the things he said to and about Oleksandr Usyk and felt like he mugged himself out."

Sharing his two cents on his preparation for Fury's upcoming rematch against Usyk he said:

" This time he is going in there thinking you know what, I'm gonna turn my s*it on you make sure I click tick every single box, so if I lose I'm gonna lose because I got beat by the better boxer. And I think there's a frustration from Tyson within himself thinking that I let myself down, and after all the things he has said before and after the fight he feels like he mugged himself off. So I like this version of Tyson Fury."

Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will share the squared circle in a high-stakes undisputed heavyweight championship bout on Dec.21.

Tyson Fury missed an opportunity to create history in his first fight against Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk went head-to-head against each other in an undisputed heavyweight title showdown in May 2024. The winner was to create history by becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years.

However, 'Gypsy King' suffered his first professional loss in the fight and failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Usyk won the match and was crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era after Lennox Lewis. The British boxer held the undisputed championship in 1998.
