Jarred Brooks believes Gustavo Balart's tricks won't work against him when they lock horns in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24.
'The Monkey God' and the No.3-ranked contender collide for the first time on the promotion's latest American primetime card, which emanates live from the Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, August 2.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated recently, the 31-year-old admits that he fully expects to cruise to a victory over the Cuban Olympian.
Furthermore, the Mash Fight Team representative says he doesn't want to put too much pressure on himself with a win there for the taking.

Jarred Brooks said:
"He's nothing new to me. I understand him as a fighter. I'm not putting pressure on myself. This is a get-by fight."
Jarred Brooks is as motivated as ever heading into interim world title fixture
Though he prefers not to add any more weight onto his shoulders, there should be some form of urgency and pressure as the former divisional king and top-ranked contender finds himself in an unfamiliar spot heading into this ONE interim strawweight MMA world title showdown.
For the first time in his promotional tenure, the Indiana native finds himself on the back of a two-match losing streak, a DQ that dethroned him off his gold at ONE 166: Qatar and a failed bid at Mikey Musumeci's ONE flyweight submission grappling world title.
However, Jarred Brooks is confident he'd be able to put that into the rearview mirror and score a win over Balart, gain the interim crown, and set himself up for a trilogy meeting against reigning king Joshua Pacio.
In an interview with the promotion, Jarred Brooks shared:
"A loss like that [the DQ against Pacio] takes a lot away from your family, your camp, and your determination for your upcoming fights. So, for me, I'm like the opposite kind of mindset, though. To where it's like, 'Oh, you're pushing me to the end of the edge."
