In a recent interview with ONE Championship, 'The General' spoke about his anticipation for this clash due to how highly he rates his challenger:

"You know, the opportunity to fight one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. I do believe he's one of the best up there. And just to get the opportunity to step in there with him."
