Mikey Musumeci and Gordon Ryan are in the midst of a war of words, with 'The King' recently labeling the former ONE Championship grappler as a "rat." But the reaction of 'Darth Rigatoni' may ultimately cause things to simmer down, as he opted against a fiery response.
Musumeci competed at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 9, his debut for the event series, where he faced off against Felipe Machado. The New Jersey native secured a victory on points after the match went to overtime.
Ryan was also in attendance for the event, as he served as a commentator. Following the result of the headlining matchup featuring Musumeci and Machado, 'The King' took to social media to criticize the performance of the bantamweight grappler.

"He calls me a little rat a lot, and he's not wrong. My Chinese Zodiac is the rat. So he's pretty accurate, what he says. I am not a big person, and I am a rat. So he's right about that. I have nothing against Gordon, he's grown the sport tremendously. I have the utmost respect for him, we're both from the same town in New Jersey. What I stand for and what he stands for are a bit different."

With Gordon Ryan and Mikey Musumeci, two of the most well-known grapplers in the world, their ongoing feud has caught the attention of many grappling and combat sports fans.
Recently the pair have traded words over their opposing stances to using performance enhancing drugs in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. During Ryan's appearance on Jake Shields' podcast in November, he discussed why he and 'Darth Rigatoni' are currently in a verbal war.
He said this:
"Mikey just attacked me. All I've ever done is talk highly of Mikey. The thing about Mikey, is he's been doing passive aggressive shots at me forever... He'll make one post that's like, 'If you take steroids you're mentally weak. You're too weak. You need a crutch. You need an out. Blah, blah, blah.' Then his very next post will be like, 'I'm depressed and I'm sad and we need to talk about mental health.' It's like, bro just f**king do your thing."
