Jarred Brooks is extremely confident in his abilities and believes he could even best champions from other promotions in combat.

The former ONE strawweight MMA world champion hasn't been shy of calling his shot against the best in the world.

Brooks recently shifted his crosshairs to UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja.

As far as the American wrestler is concerned, he has 'The Cannibal's number may it be in striking or grappling.

'The Monkey God' said in a Sportskeeda MMA exclusive:

"It depends on who he's going against or who he's wrestling against, of course. For me, I will nullify everything that Pantoja has on the ground at least, right?"

While a cross-promotion bout between these two is highly unlikely, it's not farfetched to see why Brooks thinks he'll get his hand raised in a hypothetical match with Pantoja.

For starters, the Warsaw, Indiana native's elite wrestling game is indeed a problem perhaps even for bigger opposition.

While Pantoja does have some underrated hands, Brooks also questioned his unrefined and supposedly predictable striking game. He added:

"And he's pretty sloppy on the feet. He just stands in front of people and bangs."

For now, Jarred Brooks has his sights on reclaiming 26 pounds of gold when he dukes it out with Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24 for the interim strawweight MMA crown.

Jarred Brooks says there will be no upsets at ONE Fight Night 24

Gustavo Balart is riding the high of a four-fight winning streak, which solidified his claim for a shot at the interim belt.

While Brooks understands he's still the favorite entering this five-round war, he's not one to be complacent, especially with the stakes at an all-time high.

'The Monkey God' added:

"I think he's gonna come out super-hungry. And for me, I just gotta make sure this isn't a Matt Serra versus GSP kinda deal."

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live in US Primetime on August 2 from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The full event is free for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
