Sean O'Malley appeared in front of the media today alongside the rest of the UFC 280 main card during the pre-fight press conference.
'Sugar' is set to fight #1 ranked bantamweight contender Petr Yan, in what many are calling O'Malley's biggest fight to date. There has not been much animosity between 'Sugar' and 'No Mercy' in the lead up to their fight.
Yesterday, Yan took a swing at O'Malley during his media conference, saying that 'Sugar' was a 'Conor McGregor wannabe' and 'UFC Project'.
Oscar Willis of TheMacLife informed 'Sugar' of Yan's comments about him during today's press conference. Sean O'Malley said that apart from some of McGregor's more recent controversies, the Irishman's career would not be a bad one to try and replicate.

Sean O'Malley and Dana White have both come out and stated that this could be his 'Aldo vs. McGregor moment'.
A win over Petr Yan could transform the career of 'Sugar'. But 'No Mercy' will do everything in his power to come out on top at UFC 280, and get one step closer to the belt once held.
Sean O'Malley believes Petr Yan was forced into accpet the fight with him
Sean O'Malley is gearing up for the toughest test of his career when he faces off against Petr Yan at UFC 280. The bout will be contested over 3 rounds, and will be back-and-forth from the first bell given the lack of championship rounds.
'Sugar' is currently ranked #11 on the UFC bantamweight roster, and Yan is ranked #1. Many have speculated whether this may be too much too soon for 'Sugar', and the fight announcement itself took fans by surprise.
But Sean O'Malley believes that that 'No Mercy' may have been forced into accepting the bout against 'Sugar'. Whilst speaking to BT Sport, he said:
"Petr was literally the only guy in the top 10 that was not booked. Petr said no to Chito [Vera], and the UFC probably went to him and said, 'Hey, you don't really have a choice. You can't just turn people down.' So, I don't think he really wanted this fight."
