When the time comes to look at who belongs in a Fighter of the Year shortlist, Superlek Kiamtoo9 has to be a name that is in contention.
'The Kicking Machine' has been one of the best in the world for some time now but he's only getting better at this stage of his career.
The Thai striker has earned some big wins in 2024, including his ruthless display in the main event of ONE 168. He's one of the most well-rounded competitors around but don't let that cloud the fact that he is incredibly dangerous.
After stopping Jonathan Haggerty with a perfectly timed elbow, he now reigns as a two-weight and two-sport world champion.

In a press conference ahead of ONE Friday Fights 81, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong spoke about how Superlek has been able to continue evolving:
"I think he learned the nutrition piece. He's hired a nutritionist to help him make sure that he can cut weight healthily through training camp. He's elevating his sports science as well. So I think he's doing all the right things, combined with the fact that he's only 27 years old. He's a monster. So I think right now his confidence is sky-high, and he's as sharp as ever."

Superlek has become a global megastar
With two divisions in different rulesets to reign over, Superlek isn't short on options going forward.
Chatri Sityodtong already said that it will likely be Nico Carrillo next for him which is an incredible match-up.
Though Carrillo may possess more physicality and power, it's impossible to count someone like Superlek out because he always finds a way to come out on top.
We will see how long he can maintain this incredible run of form but thanks to the investments he has made in his preparations, it doesn't look like it's ending anytime soon.
